jam session

So those who were at the jam session last year may remember that it was a little ... uncooperative. I liked the chaos, but a little more cooperation would have improved the output substantially.

Some ideas:

Someone could bring a sequencer so we'll all have something consistent to play along with. I'm working on a sequencer mode for the avrsyn -- hopefully it will be done in time.

We could play something alleatoric a la "In C". That way, everyone is on the same page but not quite.

We could try and create an entry for Blockparty. Or are most people already working on entries of their own?

Who's bringing what? I'm bringing the avrsyn like last year, though with updated firmware. I've also got a digital delay line in progress on breadboard to try out.

I'm the person running the Jam Session - same as last year.
Stuff I'm planning to bring:
Yamaha AN-200 Sequencer/synth
Yamaha QY-10 sequencer/module
at least one keyboard (probably the Juno-1, maybe the CS1X?)
some various and sundry other things I'm building for my presentation (hint: you should bring the avrsyn to that. I'm hoping to have a show-and-tell component at the end if you'd be willing to talk about it for a couple of minutes. This also goes for anyone else with DIY-type instruments).
One device I'm building is an eight-step analog-style MIDI sequencer (Arduino-powered). It will hopefully generate MIDI sync as well, so lots of things can be chained and synced.

Blockparty-wise, I've already got songs in the pipeline for both of the music contests, but maybe something for wild?

Sure, I'll be at your presentation.

Did you add an extra adc or mux to the arduino to get more than 6 analog inputs?

And I'll look into adding MIDI sync support.

Unfortunately, I have a lot of projects that are "almost done", but not quite ready to bring.

Anyone else bringing something to the jam session?

It's muxed - I'm using a 4051 and selecting via three digital lines. It's almost working at this point. I think it will be 100% by tomorrow.

If it's not there, the drift could be kind of interesting.

Any chance anyone is going to have a vocoder or voice processor of some kind?

I will indeed bring my vocoder! not the best ever, but it certainly works. I'll probably try and bring some other effects-processing things as well.
